William Himes Obituary

WILLIAM “BILL” HIMES, SR. went home to Jesus and is reunited with his sons Brian and Bill, and grandson Jacob on January 29, 2024 at age 88.

Bill was born to Willard and Mildred Himes (both deceased) on November 27, 1935 in Columbia Station, Ohio. He had one sister Betty Lou Runion (deceased). Bill played football in High School and joined the Army as a young adult. He was three classes short of receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Fenn College. He worked for Bohler Welding for over 35 years, and he loved his job.

Bill was the loving husband for 56 years to Judy (nee Kocon). She was the love of his life. His message to her every day was that he did not want to leave her. He was the father of William, Jr. (deceased), Michael (Lori), Kelly Siemer (Jamie), Brian (deceased), and honorary son Adam Bruncak. He was the grandfather “Ampa” to Brian Himes, Jacob Siemer (deceased), Isaac Siemer, Bridgette Himes, and Noah Siemer. He was the brother-in-law to Patrick Kocon (deceased), Linda Kocon, Leo Kocon (deceased), Michael Kocon (deceased), and David Kocon (Joyce). He was a dear uncle to Jessica and Maddie Bowler, and Karen, Patrick and Melissa Jersan Kocon, Dave and Alishia Kupiec, Korbin and Kepley, and Donovan Rogers.

Bill loved being a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus (Archbishop Hoban), and 3rd Degree Knight with Mary Queen of Peace 16279. He was also a dedicated Companion of the Precious Blood for over 25 years. He had an unwavering faith in God, and his faith only grew stronger in his final years of life. Bill was loved by so many. His positive outlook, sense of humor, generous spirit and kind heart left an impression wherever he went. He never met a stranger that didn’t quickly become his friend. His sense of humor always lightened every moment. He had an incredible work ethic that will forever be remembered.
