VINCENT S. DELCALZO age 75. Passed away peacefully on June 10, 2022 at the Holy Family Health Care Center in Parma, Ohio after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving sister Mary Jo Babb (Jim) of Indianapolis, IN. and was the beloved uncle of Garrett Babb (Jennifer), Gina McIntosh (Josh), and Angela Babb (Jarrod Linne) He was affectionately known as “Uncle VeeVee” to his cherished great grandnephew and nieces, Lily, Emily and Will.
He will be dearly missed by his many cousins, friends, colleagues and teammates. A proud member of the Inaugural graduation class of Padua High School in 1965. While at Padua Vince excelled in sports, he lettered in Football, Baseball and Track for the Bruins.
An Avid golfer and Played Softball in leagues in both Parma and Strongsville for many years. He was an active member of the Strongsville City Club and volunteered often at the St. Augustine Hunger Center.
Vince was a United States Air Force Veteran and received an Associate’s Degree from Tri-C after his service to his country. He then worked for the Bell Systems, now AT&T as a manager until his retirement.
Vince was an accomplished actor appearing in over 20 plays in the Greater Cleveland area including productions at the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square. His was most proud of his role as “Tevye” in “The Fiddler on the Roof” at Buckeye Community Theatre.
Above all, Vince was devoted and faithful son of the late Vincent and Angela (LaCorte) DelCalzo for whom he provided tender and loving elder care in his home for several years. In lieu of flowers, Vince’s family has requested contributions to be considered to either the Holy Family Home Health Care and Hospice Center or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Friday June 17, 2022 from 4 – 8 PM at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71).
