RUTH EILEEN LEE

Ruth Eileen Lee was born on April 8, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri, the first daughter to Robert and Helen Lee. She entered heaven on November 22, 2020 at the Hospice of Western Reserve in Westlake where she navigated her last weeks of a ten-year cancer journey with grace and peace.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Lee in April of this year. She is survived by her father Robert Lee of Cleveland, and her sisters Rebecca Elle of Cleveland and residing in Truckee, CA, Laurinda Curti of Colorado Springs, CO, and Roberta Hudy of Avon, Ohio.  Ruth was a beloved aunt to Andrea, Matthew and Jonathan Curti and Diana Curti-Maffei; and to Alexis, Madison, and Sophia Hudy.

After Ruth graduated from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Education, she accepted her first elementary teaching position in Kansas City, Kansas.  Later she moved back to Westlake, Ohio and taught first and second grades in the North Ridgeville School System until her retirement.

As a woman of great faith Ruth will be remembered for her love of Christ and her family.  She prayed for everyone and for everything.  She cherished her friends and neighbors. Her contagious laugh, attention to detail in her daily life, and appreciation of beauty will be missed.  Ruth was an accomplished classical pianist and additionally accompanied numerous choirs and ensembles.  She appreciated studying political science, government, American history, and the Bible.  She enjoyed ice skating, swimming, and tennis.

Ruth will be laid to rest at a grave side service on Tuesday November 24, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Sunset Memorial Park.  Friends are welcome to join the family at the grave site located in Section 37 outside the Garden of Religion in the Heart Section. 

Funeral arrangements have been provided by A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Homes.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, Ohio 44145 on Ruth’s behalf for her end of life care and comfort.  Their support was incredible for Ruth and her family.
