MATTHEW M. SELVAGGIO

MATTHEW M. SELVAGGIO, age 82, passed away on May 23, 2020. Beloved husband of 58 years to his cherished wife Loretta (nee Intrevado). Loving father of Nick (Suzanne), Dino, Tina, and Matthew. Cherished grandfather of 6. Son of Nicola and Louise Selvaggio (nee Fratiani). Dear brother of Lucretia Salvatore and the late Joseph. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Proud graduate of Cathedral Latin High School.  Dedicated employee of Cole National for 40 years as the Corporate Director of Taxation. U. S. Army Korean War Veteran. Member of VFW Post 3345, American Legion Post 703, Home Family Club and Middleburg Heights Planning Commission. He loved and supported the Arts and many of Cleveland’s landmarks, museums and cultural centers. He was proud of his Italian Heritage and Dual Citizenship. He loved to take pictures and play music while showing off his latest gadgets at the Home Family Club. He enjoyed working in his garden and tending to the fish in his pond. He prized telling jokes and sharing his sense of humor with everyone he loved. Above all, Matt cherished his beautiful bride and family for whom he made incredible sacrifices.  Mass of Christian Burial for family and friends Saturday May 30, 2020 St. Bartholomew Church, 14865 Bagley Road at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, there will be a graveside service at 11:30AM  Holy Cross Cemetery / Holy Family Mausoleum. SOCIAL DISTANCING AND A FACE MASK ARE REQUIRED. The family would like to thank the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs for the constant medical care and support as well as the medical staff at Southwest General Hospital in the final days of his life.
