MARSHA LYNN FISHER, 78, of Strongsville, died Saturday, August 22, 2020.
She was born February 19, 1942 in East Liverpool, Ohio. Her father, the late Benjamin Clark Franklin, was a pottery caster at the Hall China Company. Her mother Mildred Bessie (Coleman) Franklin, died of cancer in 1957, when Marsha was just 15 years old. It was a loss she felt profoundly for the rest of her life.
She graduated from East Liverpool Highschool in 1960 and attended Baldwin Wallace University, where she studied early childhood education. She met her husband Bob Fisher at BW, and they were married February 8, 1964 in McKeesport, PA.
After college, Marsha and Bob ran summer camps for the Goodrich settlement house and the YMCA. She taught Kindergarten in Kent, Ohio, and Sunday School classes at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Berea.
In 1975 she was recruited to be a Mary Kay Cosmetics beauty consultant and quickly became the director of her own sales unit. Her teaching background, marketing skills, and ability to make everyone around her feel special, propelled her unit to national prominence. She set numerous sales records, spun off several national sales directors and won a string of the famous Mary Kay pink Cadillacs.
Marsha was a diehard Indians and Cavs fan and always rooted for the scrappy, little guys like Omar, Jose and Delly. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, organizing her seashell collection and playing party games.
Above all, she loved to goof around with her grandchildren and spoil her pets. Her favorite thing in the world was cuddling with the kids during a good rainstorm. She always said her mother spoke to her through the rain.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Guy Fisher of Strongsville, and Wade Fisher (Pauline Tate) of Westlake, and twin daughters, Kelly Fisher (Clay Reynolds) of Elyria, and Shannon Fisher of Strongsville; five grandchildren, Stephen Kuharik, Cody Fisher, Madison Fisher, Autumn Fisher and Emma Fisher; a daughter-in-law, Paula Kuharik; and a sister, Jana Crawford of Stow; a nephew, Scott Crawford, and a niece, Emily Crawford.
