MARIO LEANZA

MARIO LEANZA age 73. Mario Leanza, born November 24, 1946 in Maleto, SIciliy, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 21, 2020. Mario is preceded in death by his parents Amelio and Maria Leanza (deceased) and brother Salvatore (deceased) (Rose). Mario was born in Maleto, moved to Catania, Sicily and then emigrated to the United States in September 1965. In 1969 he married the love of his life, Constance (nee Vecchio). They have four children, Mary (Steve) Manzuk, Margaret, Christina and Amelio (Yvonne). His greatest joys were his seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Samantha, Stacy, Sarah, Christopher and Sophia Manzuk, Alex (Katelyne), Amelio (AJ), Roman and Loreilei Leanza. Mario was a loving brother in law, uncle, and cousin to many.

In 1969 Mario opened Leanza’s Quality Shoe Service. For 47 years his business resided in the Brookgate Shopping plaza. He took great pride in his work and it showed. His loyal customers would even mail work to him from other states! Mario was an avid gardener and an usher at St. Mel Church where he was a parishioner for nearly 50 years

Mass of Christian Burial, Friday St. Mel Church, 14436 Triskett Rd at 10:00 AM (EVERYONE MEET AT THE CHURCH) Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends received with social distancing and masks Thursday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH (West of I-71).
