KATHLEEN M. (O'Conke) CAVANAGH

KATHLEEN MARIE “Kathy” CAVANAGH (nee O’Conke), passed away on June 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born May 13, 1960 (she was proud of having been born on Friday the 13th) to Ted and Joan (Carney) O’Conke, who both preceded her in death.

Kathy was married to her loving husband Paul, and they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary two days before her passing. In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her cherished daughter Kristin Nix (Aaron) and her beloved granddaughter Hailee Nix, who was, still is and will continue to be the light of her life. Kathy was the best mother and grandmother anyone could possibly ask for.

Kathy is also survived by her brother Doug O’Conke (Pam), her sister Cheryl Slater (Mike), sister-in-law Anne Cavanagh, her nieces and nephews and numerous friends. In addition to other relatives and friends, Kathy was preceded in death by her niece Ruthie O’Conke and her best friend growing up Pat Clark (Mike).

Above all else Kathy loved her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and antiquing, and liked spending time with family and friends, enjoying beach life at the family cottage in Lake City Michigan or just relaxing in their backyard in front of an evening fire. Kathy and Paul truly enjoyed traveling together and with their close friends.

In lieu of flowers, her family simply asks that you hug your loved ones often, tell them how much they mean to you and treasure each and every day with them, never taking for granted the time that you have with them.

Funeral Service 6:00 pm Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment private.

The family will receive friends THURSDAY 4-6 PM at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY RD., MIDDLEBURG HTS. (WEST OF I-71)
