JOHN SIMANELLA age 97. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Von Nida). Loving father of Kathy Moen (Mal), Cheryl Baker (Terry), Karen, John, Jr., Julie Silvestro (Anthony), Chris (Monica), Gina Mahjoubian (Corey) and the late Joseph. Cherished grandfather of 9. Dear brother of Anita Selvaggio (late Pasquale) and the late James, Anthony, John, Rose, Jim, Mary and Rose,.. Uncle, cousin and great friend of many. U.S. Army/Air Corp WW II Veteran, member of the Middleburg Heights Seniors where he was the social D.J.

John was a lifelong advocate for the sport of bowling, Past President of the Greater Cleveland Bowling Association and member of the Cleveland and Ohio State Bowling Halls of Fame. He was also long time employee with the former Gene Norris Oldsmobile on Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. 

Mass of Christian Burial, St. Bartholomew Church, Thursday March 4, 2021 at 9:00 AM. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH), Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends received  Wednesday 4 – 8 PM (MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED) at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH (West of I-71).
