Obituary

JOHN R. LAZO, age 88, passed away on January 1, 2022. Beloved husband of Dorothy “Dottie” (nee Onesko). John was a native of Pottsville, PA and a resident of Strongsville, Ohio for 20 years. Before retiring to Palm City, Florida in 1996, he had been President of Mantec Inc. in York, PA, an International Consultant with Booz Allen Inc. and A.T. Kearney, and an Executive with both Republic Steel in Cleveland, OH and United States Steel Corporation in Morrisville, PA.

John was a graduate of Pottsville High School and Pennsylvania State University where after graduation he served on the Penn State Engineering Society Board of Directors and the Engineering Department Industrial and Professional Advisory Council as Past President. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Strongsville, and had been active in the Boy Scouts, Indian Guides and numerous Professional Engineering Societies.

Besides his wife Dottie, he is survived by his children Brooks Wilson, Kristin Croone (Craig) and Eric Lazo (Wendy) and his grandsons Anders and Brooks Croone. He was the dear brother of Lee Toney, Jane Kressel and the late Nancy Higgins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Church, 16271 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH on Saturday January 8, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Salvation Army. The family will gather with friends at the church from 10 – 10:30 AM.
