JAMES R. OTTO, age 82. Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Zechman) for 64 years; devoted father of James (Charlene), Robert (deceased), Theresa Scheiman (Michael), John (Anna), Laureen Pfenninger (Robert), Ronald (Abbey Alberico), and Michael (Dana); cherished grandfather of JP, Joshua, Daniel, Jonathan, Kevin, Zachary, Jacob O., Rebecca, Katie, Bobby, Nicole, Nicholas, Kayla, Ashly, Michael S., Jacob S., Emily, Amanda, Rachel, Robby, Tony, Alicia, Shawn, Michael P., Andrew, Danielle, Michael O., Dylan, and great-grandfather of 31; caring brother of Ken (Gladys), Rick (deceased), and Cindy; dear son of the late Eric and Laverne (nee Grugle).

Jim was in the Rendering business since he was 19 years old . He worked for several companies before he and his partner Roger Zehe formed Ohio By-Products in 1989. He was very proud of their business which started with a borrowed pickup truck. They were very successful at growing their business. He retired after selling the company in 2006.  His biggest accomplishment to him was his pride in his family. Jim's family was the first in his life.  Jim was very active at St Bartholomew Parish in Middleburg Hts. He was involved as a Eucharistic Minister bringing the Eucharist to the nursing homes. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Fellowship Mens Group. He was always there to do whatever he could to be of help. Jim also volunteered at the Middleburg Food Pantry.
He had many wonderful friends that he thought the world of. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are suggested to the either the Holy Name Society of St. Bartholomew Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am, Saturday March 18, 2023 at St. Bartholomew Church. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends FRIDAY 4 – 7 PM at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71).
