Glenn G. Hutchison

GLENN G. HUTCHISON, age 91. Beloved husband of the late Betty Louise (nee Herbert). Loving step-father of Myra LaVoo, Larry LaVoo, Karen White (Timothy), Cherished grandfather of Kayla Cavalier (Jesse); great grandfather of Emilia Louise Cavalier. Dear brother of Kate Sparks (Rex, deceased), Corwin (deceased) (Susan) and Herbert (deceased) (Darlene). Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Glenn or ‘Hutch’ as he was also known, graduated from both Capital University and Ohio University studying Mathematics and Biology where he became an educator in Cuyahoga County. He taught for years in until his early retirement to help in taking care of his granddaughter. Glenn was very generous, always helping where he could. He gave to multiple charities and organizations. Was actively involved in his church leading Sunday school classes as well as assisting in the youth group and vacation Bible school. Taught drivers ED, tutored in math and helped friends and family with projects around their homes. He was very faithful in attending all of his granddaughters extracurricular activities and became well acquainted with her friends. He was a very helpful and devoted husband to Betty in many ways, especially as a caretaker in her later years.
He was a simple, quiet man who enjoyed sunshine, old hymns, baseball hats, red pickup trucks, watching football on Sunday while munching on some Lorna Doones, plain potato chips and cashews. Enjoyed his quiet time while reading his Bible or historical books he was recommended by the library and no matter the time of day or temperature outside, he always enjoyed a fresh, steaming hot cup of black coffee. U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Funeral services Friday May 12, 2023 St. Paul Lutheran Church, 276 E. Bagley Road (Berea) at 10:00 AM. (EVERYONE MEET AT CHURCH). The family will receive friends THURSDAY EVENING 6 – 8 PM at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71).
