Our Child of God, Collin Michael Nemet, walked hand in hand with Jesus into His Heavenly Kingdom on Thursday, April 22, 2021, after fighting Medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. The name Collin means "Child". At the young age of 11 years old, he showed us all what it meant to have the Faith of a Child-completely trusting in God's will for him.
Born on June 16th, 2009 to Mike and Kim (nee Kolman) Nemet, he was a special boy from the day he was born. God's love shined through Collin to anyone he met. Everyone could see Collin's kindness & thoughtfulness through his sweet smile. He could make anyone laugh & feel good through his jokes and pranks. Collin's sense of humor made the world a better place. There was a spark in his eyes that just made you feel good when he was around you.
Collin's faith led him through life. He had a special relationship with God, and he was very close to Jesus. Orange was Collin's favorite color, which is the color of joy. Collin was pretty strait-laced in life, except when it came to playing board games & his favorite card game, UNO. He was a bit of a cheater when it came to that!
Collin enjoyed a good french fry, with a side of extra salt. His sweet tooth was larger than life, especially when it came to Root Beer in bottles and candy! Collin loved his friends-sharing Taco Tuesdays with them was the highlight of his week at school. His Memorial & Maverick Team teachers always made sure he had fun and grew as a student. Collin was most proud of his extensive Nerf Blaster Collection and was a pretty good shot. Collin was most relaxed when his was fishing, always a catch & release. The Newburgh Heights Fire Department honored Collin as a firefighter on their squad (Badge #226).
In Collin's short life, he brought many people to God. Some for the first time, some with a renewed spirit. God has big plans for Collin in Heaven and his work with the Holy Spirit is just beginning.
Collin is survived by his parents, Mike and Kim Nemet, siblings Deacon, KaraBeth, Emma and Lincoln; Grandparents Chuck Nemet and Pat (nee Klubnik) & Jerry Kaszar; and an amazing team of aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends. He is preceded in death by his Grandma Mary Ann Nemet.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Project Outrun in Collin's honor.
