ASHLEY JENKINS

Ashley Jenkins age 35 (would have been 36 on July 15) passed away on July 8th from complications of a disease called M. E. L. A. S. A Mitochondrial  disease unfortunately, this disease can present itself in the mildest form to the most severe. Our dear Ashley appears to have had the most severe complications. Almost 4 months ago we thought we were going to lose her but God decided it wasn’t her time. She was put on full life support with what looked like the end. She became our miracle as she fought for the next 4 months for her life while being hospitalized. She could no longer fight anymore.  Her body had enough after multiple surgeries, tests and pokes. 

Ashley was born July 15, 1984 in Warren Ohio to Dan Jenkins and Joyce Jenkins (Freiling). Ashley was a sister to 5 brothers and a twin sister. Her mother and oldest brother have since passed away. Ashley was an Aunt to two beautiful 21/2 year old identical twin nieces. And a kind, caring and spunky sister-in-law to Ryan Goff. 

Ashley was homeschooled 5th through 12th grade alongside her twin sister. She attended Tri-C, received a Medical Assistant Certificate from Sanford Brown Institute and worked at Walt Disney Worlds magic Kingdom under a Disney College Program Internship. Ashley always loved Disney and her dream came true when she got the opportunity to work there. After her 5 month internship was complete she extended her program for 5 more months when her twin sister joined in on the fun.

Ashley was a woman of faith. Going to church all her life and being a preachers kid, she knew and believed in a powerful God. 

Ashley grew up in a family that also believed “life is too short to pass up opportunities so take the chance and do it”.   Ashley loved life. She always had the biggest smile and gave the biggest hugs. There is no doubt she was feisty and fierce. Ashley had the sweetest personality and was loved by everyone she touched!  Ashley has left memories and a legacy we will all carry on until we meet again. You will be missed more than we know!
