Albert W. Wolk (Sonny) long time resident of Brunswick went to his Heavenly Home surrounded by his loving family on June 19, 2020.
Albert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years Rosaura, his brother Fred Wolk, his sister Mae Snyder and his great-grandson Evan Thomas Reeves.
Albert is survived by his daughters Linda Collins of Chippewa Lake and Deborah Wolk of Brunswick. He leaves four grandchildren: Adelaide Voss Parra, Jodi Reeves Lamy (Chris), Jocelyn Voss Coppock (Michael), James Reeves (Kathleen). He also leaves five great grandchildren: Katrine Melina Parra, Ethan James Reeves, Ellie Marie Reeves, and Emily Taylor Coppock. He will be dearly missed by loving nieces and nephews Fred Wolk, Mark Wolk, Michael Wolk, Maribeth Downey, Diane Dunaway, Barbara Ott and their families. Albert will also be dearly missed by a host of long time friends and neighbors.
Albert had a passion for Automobiles. He served in the U.S. Army as Sgt. First Class for 9 years and fought in the Korean War Infantry Division. He was a member of the International Operating Engineers Union Local 18 and loved his work. Albert was a member of the St. Ambrose Parish as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Al was known to his family and friends as Mr. Fixit. Al could make, build, fix anything and was often called upon to do so.
Family will welcome visitors on Wednesday June 24, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm at the A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home located at 18149 Bagley Rd. Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday June 25, 2020 at 10:30 am St. Ambrose Parish located at 929 Pearl Rd. Brunswick, Ohio 44212. You are invited to attend Lunch served after mass in the Church Hall.
Immediately following the luncheon Albert will be laid to rest at 1:30pm in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, Ohio 44273. All are invited to attend.
