WALTER LAWRENCE STIEGELE, age 89. Beloved husband of 68 years to Angela Marie (nee Caso). Loving father of Walter M., Cheryl Devonshire (Mark), Beverly Stiegele, Janet Spiker (Jon) and the late Kenneth. Cherished grandfather of 13; great grandfather of 7. Dear brother of Joan Norris and the late Arlene. Also survived by nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Walter served in France during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He served his country by utilizing his talents in transportation and logistics. Walter spent his career in the trucking industry as he moved up the ranks from dock worker to Vice President of CCC Highway. Walter played football for Buchtel High School, won the Golden Gloves Boxing Championship in 1946, placed 4th in the nation at the St. Louis National Speed Skating Competition as well as being an avid handball player and winning golf tournaments including many at Fairlawn Country Club. Walter will be missed by his children, family and friends who are thankful for the love and contributions he made to them throughout his life. Donations can be made in memory of Walter to the Cleveland VA, Heroes Harbor Hospice, 10701 E. Blvd., Cleveland, Ohio 44106. U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Mass of Christian Burial Friday November 30, 2018 St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:00AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends THURSDAY 4 – 8 PM at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71).
