PATRICIA L. AHERN

PATRICIA L. AHERN, age 77. Daughter of William F. Ahern, Jr. and Gertrude Cahill Ahern of Akron, Patty was a mentor, educator and linguist with an independent spirit.  Patty attended St. Sebastian grade school and St Vincent High School in Akron.  Following graduation from the University of Akron and attending the Sorbonne University in Paris, she taught at Norwalk High School, Ford Jr. High School and Midpark High School for many years. She especially enjoyed her trips with her students to Paris to introduce them to the French culture. She was an active member of St. Colette Parish and also active with St. Sebastian Parish.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Kerry W. Ahern, infant sister Mary Kathleen Ahern and infant nephew, Timothy Ahern. She is survived by her siblings, Michael W. Ahern (Mary Ellen), Stephen F. Ahern (Lynne) and Janice M. Ahern (John N. Patterson) and many aunts, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday July 25, 2019 St. Colette Church, 330 West 130th Street (Brunswick) at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon reception following. Final resting place Holy Cross Cemetery (Akron). The family will receive friends Wednesday 5 – 7 p.m. at the A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights (West of I-71).
