MARJORY SNYDER Obituary

MARJORY M. SNYDER age 73. Beloved wife of the late William. Loving mother of Laura Rocheck (Craig), Christopher (Deborah), Michael (fiancé Megan) and the late Scott William Snyder. Cherished grandmother of Zachary, Christian and Savannah. Dearest daughter of the late Rev. Louis and Elsie Stueber. Dearest Godmother of Heather Schwarz. Dear sister of Carl Thrasher, Robert Thrasher, Joyce Hopkins and the late Rachel Stump, James and John Thrasher. Aunt and friend of many.

Marjory was a preacher’s daughter, raised by Reverend Louis and Elsie Stueber of Pilgrim Reformed and Evangelical Church in Garfield Hts., Ohio. She attended Jane Adams HS in Cleveland and was in the National Honor Society and on several other committees. She worked on the HS yearbook staff, was on the student council, in the school & church choirs and was also a girl scout (just to name a few things). She attended the 1967 World’s Fair in Montreal, Canada which she found to be truly fascinating. Marge went on to become an EKG Technician working for the: Cleveland Clinic, Southwest General Hospital and later retiring from Kaiser Permanente. While at the Cleveland Clinic, Marjory had the opportunity to work with the cardiac team of surgeons on the 1st heart transplant done in Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic in 1968. This was a very exciting & educational time for her! She later married William Snyder (a US NAVY veteran) in 1970 (after 3 years of letter writing). The two wrote hundreds of letters to each other while he was overseas during the Vietnam War that are comparable to something out of the movie, “The Notebook”! She and husband Bill went on to raise their 3 children: Laura, Christopher and Michael in Brunswick, Ohio. She had been a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church since 1984. Marge and husband Bill enjoyed boating, traveling, spending time with their family and visiting national battlefields. They shared a love for music, American History and ancestry research, as well. She was a true patriot, loved the color blue, and was a descendant of an American Revolutionary Soldier who served with George Washington (D.A.R.) She and husband Bill were supporters of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg, The United States Navy Memorial, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, The United Way, the March of Dimes and many other charities. The two of them also shared a love for Labrador Retrievers and she very much missed their 2 Black Labs, Sam and Holly. Marge will be greatly missed by her family and friends who loved her dearly. Her smile, which can be seen in many photos, was simply radiant!
