KATHLEEN (HERRITY) VAUGHAN

KATHLEEN M. VAUGHAN (nee Herrity), age 70. Kathleen Mary Vaughan, age 70 of Parma, Ohio, passed away September 19, 2019 surrounded by her family.  She was born March 7, 1949 in Berea, Ohio to parents Austin (Danny) and Doris Ann Herrity, who preceded her in death along with her brother Pat Herrity; and nephew, Daniel Herrity. Kathi was a 1967 graduate of Valley Forge High School. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and their friends. Kathi was proud of her status as a “Hockey Grandma”. A wonderful cook, her greatest joy in life was preparing meals for her family and friends. Everyone was always welcome and considered family at her dinner table. Kathi was a giving person who always put others before herself. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Vaughan; daughter, Jami Szafarski and husband Dave; sons, James Green and wife Diane, Danny Green and husband Donald; grandchildren, Jake Szafarski, Drew Szafarski, Nick Szafarski, Austin Green and Anna Green; best friends, Lynn Noll and Paulette Prokop; along with numerous other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, Kathi’s family would appreciate donations to the Holy Family Hospice, 6707 State Rd, Parma, Ohio 44134. Pallbearers will be James Green, Danny Green, Dave Szafarski, Jake Szafarski, Drew Szafarski, Nick Szafarski, Austin Green and Daniel Noll. Kathi’s family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Holy Family Hospice, Parma, Ohio for their excellent, loving and compassionate care she received during her final weeks. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday September 26, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Church 5891 Ridge Road at 11:00 AM. Interment Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Olmsted Falls, Ohio. The family will receive friends WEDNESDAY 4 – 8 PM at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71).
