JOHN R. MISKA,
John Roman Miska of Brook Park, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Dolores (nee Bonick), loving father of the John (Kathy), Michele Jackson (Rick), Charles (Laura), and the late Douglas; and grandfather of Justin, Nathaniel, Joshua, Jessica, Adam, Johnna, and the late Jacob. John was born February 15, 1931 to the late Jan and Helene Miska in Cleveland Ohio, and is the brother of the late Harriet, Max, Mary, Eugene, and Adele. The family would also like to acknowledge the loving support of nephew, Joseph Horvat, nieces Helene Frindt and Charlene Bolek. John’s heritage and Catholic faith were very important to him. He grew up in Cleveland, and was the youngest of six children. John served as an alter boy, and attended Benedictine High School. He held various jobs to help raise money for his Catholic schooling – from being a paperboy for the Cleveland Press, selling flowers in local taverns, to working late nights as an usher at a Movie Theater. John served as a Marine under the 1st Division Air Wing Group 31 during the Korean War from 1951-1955. After the service, he married his sweetheart Dolores in 1957, and purchased a new home in Brook Park, where they raised four children. John had a lifetime career in food sales and eventually retired from Hills Brother’s Coffee. He and his wife had a passion for visiting casinos, gardening, and their grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday August 25, 2018 St. Adalbert Church, 66 Adalbert Street (Berea) at 10:30AM. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
