GREGORY MOORE Obituary

Gregory Anthony Moore, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, February 12th, 2019.

Greg was born on February 13th, 1955 in Euclid, Ohio and graduated from Euclid High School in 1973. During high school Greg was known for playing on the first returning soccer team, fighting for diversity within the student council board, and having a wide group of friends.

After high school, Greg began studying at John Carroll University with a focus on psychology, linguistics, and business. There, he met his core group of friends, Jim, Linda, Laura, Joyce, Pat, Mike and Greg, that he truly valued. Greg loved telling stories of these days and the trouble he would get in, all in the name of good fun. Greg was also proud to set up his two good friends Jim and Joyce O’Hare who are now married.

While working in sales, Greg would often visit one of his clients, where he met Denise LaCasper. After a few funny encounters, they decided to go to a Grover Washington concert, and accidentally ran into a co-worker who skipped work to attend the show. After realizing what was going on, they all promised to keep the secret within the venue. At the end of the night while trying to get home, the brakes on Greg’s car stopped working. In order to finally get the car to stop, they had to drive in circles around a gas station convenience store on the opposite side of town. To their luck, the cashier of the convenience store offered to drive them both home. After making it back safely that night, it was remembered as a fun and adventurous date that lead to many others until they were married on July 19th, 1986.

Greg lived his adult life in Broadview Heights, Ohio with his wife and two children, Megan and Ian. He was known for having an answer to everything, even the most interesting topics. Greg was the fire that kept parties going, and every conversation interesting.

Greg was multi-talented and enjoyed a large variety of hobbies. Some of his favorites were soccer, fly fishing, pickling and cooking. Some of his best dishes were paella, grilled rustica pizza and his weekly Saturday quiches. He also became a bourbon connoisseur that was always on the hunt for the next best and rarest brand.

If there is one thing Greg wanted us to learn from his time with us, it would be to “mark time”. He said this phrase often on special occasions to help us remember to take a “mental snapshot” of what was going on no matter how good or bad it was.

Greg was the beloved husband of Denise (nee LaCasper). Loving father of Megan (fiancé Michael Snyder) and Ian. Dearest brother of Jim Moore (Kate), Son of the late William and Elnore Moore/ Son in law of Shirley Campbell. Brother in law of Dawn Holley (Brian), Diane Smith (Paul) and Damien Campbell (Maria). Uncle, cousin and friend of many. Please no flowers. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 2, 2019 from 2 – 4 PM in the Family Gathering Center of the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH (West of I-71).
